Usage Instructions:
- A maximum level of 2% is permitted in adult formulations that are to be left on the skin and 3% is a max for rinse-off products.

- Salicylic acid can be added also in powder form to a finished cream or lotion without dissolving it first in water or another solvent.
There are a few ways to incorporate salicylic acid into products and formulations. In formulations, salicylic acid requires a humectant to dissolve, which is then used in the water phase. It can be dissolved in Propylene Glycol and or to a lesser degree in glycerine. It is poorly soluble in water on its own. Gentle heating may be required to fully dissolve.
In ready-made products, the salicylic acid powder can be blended straight in without the need to dissolve it first.
Remember to check the pH of your product after adding salicylic acid, as it can lower the pH significantly. You don’t want to go much lower than pH 3.5 or your skin may be irritated.
