Lauric Acid

From N$85.00

Lauric Acid (also known as Dodecanoic Acid) is a saturated medium-chain fatty acid most commonly derived from coconut oil and palm kernel oil. It appears as white flakes or powder with a mild fatty scent and is widely used in cosmetic formulations, soap making, surfactants, detergents, and skincare products.

It is one of the key fatty acids responsible for the cleansing, foaming, emulsifying, and antimicrobial properties of many natural products. Lauric Acid is especially valued for creating firm, high-lather soaps and boosting the stability and thickness of emulsions in skincare.

In formulation science, Lauric Acid is known for its excellent surfactant compatibility, making it popular in shampoos, body washes, cleansers, and foaming products.
