Clove Bud Oil

Clove Bud Essential Oil comes from the dried buds of the Syzygium aromaticum L. tree, indigenous to the Spice Islands of Indonesia. Historically, cloves were a highly valued and extremely expensive spice that spawned much global trade conflict. Traditionally, Clove Bud Essential Oil has been used to cleanse, manage pain and abrasions, and support healthy respiration and digestion.

The main chemical constituents of Clove Bud Essential Oil are Eugenol, Eugenyl acetate and beta-Caryophyllene.

Used in perfumery, Clove Bud Essential Oil is a middle note that is often used in Oriental fragrances and elevates floral accords.

In aromatherapy, Clove Bud Essential Oil has a warming, stimulating scent that is reputed to be an aphrodisiac as well as to help manage anxious energy and enhance concentration.

Used in skincare, Clove Bud Essential Oil benefits include cleansing and moisturizing properties to help maintain an invigorated look.

Suggested Use

• Baths: Add 5-10 drops of essential oil(s) to a warm running bath. If you have sensitive skin, blend the essential oil in a teaspoon of carrier oil first. Close the door so the vapours don’t escape. Soak for at least 10 minutes, relaxing and breathing deeply.
• Massage: Use 5-6 drops of essential oil per 10ml of carrier oil. Mix thoroughly and apply liberally to the skin.
• Inhalations: Add 4-5 drops of essential oil to a bowl of steaming water. Place a towel over your head, close your eyes and lean over the bowl. Inhale the vapour for a few minutes.
• Burners and Diffusers: Fill the bowl of the burner or vaporiser with water and add 3-6 drops of essential oil. Light the candle and the oil will evaporate as the water heats up. Do not let the bowl dry out.
• Blends well with bergamot, peppermint, mandarin, vetiver, or tea tree.

Essential oils are the highly concentrated active ingredients of plants. They should always be diluted in a base (carrier oil, water etc) before use, and should not be taken internally without professional recommendation.
