How to Use
For Herbal Tea / Infusion
- Add approximately ½ teaspoon of dried Sweet Annie to 250 ml of freshly boiled water.
- Cover and allow to steep for approximately 5–10 minutes.
- Strain thoroughly before drinking.
- Start with a mild infusion, especially if using Sweet Annie for the first time.
- Drink in moderation and avoid making excessively strong preparations.
Sweet Annie has a naturally strong and bitter flavour. It may be combined with milder herbs available from Hambelela Organic to soften the taste.
For a Larger Infusion
Add approximately 1 teaspoon of dried Sweet Annie to 500 ml of freshly boiled water.
Cover and steep for 5–10 minutes, then strain thoroughly. Divide the prepared infusion into smaller servings rather than drinking a concentrated amount at once.
For Herbal Blends
Sweet Annie may be combined with other compatible dried herbs depending on the blend being prepared.
Because it has a strong bitter flavour, use Sweet Annie as a smaller portion of the blend and combine it with milder herbs where appropriate.
Directions
- Start with a mild preparation and increase only if needed.
- Avoid highly concentrated infusions.
- Use for short periods rather than continuously for long periods unless advised by a qualified healthcare professional.
- Do not use Sweet Annie as a substitute for prescribed medication or medical treatment.
- If using the herb for a specific health concern, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
Safety
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically advised by a healthcare professional.
