How to Use

As Part of a Skincare Routine

When using a finished product containing Kojic Acid, apply a small amount to clean, dry skin once daily, preferably in the evening. Follow with a gentle moisturizer to maintain the skin barrier. Visible improvement typically occurs after consistent use for several weeks.

If used during the daytime, sunscreen is essential. Brightening ingredients can increase the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight, and sun exposure may reverse progress made in fading pigmentation.

Targeted Spot Treatment

Apply a thin layer directly onto dark spots or uneven areas. Use consistently but avoid over-application. If mild tingling occurs, reduce frequency to every other day until skin adjusts.

Kojic Acid pairs well with ingredients such as niacinamide for tone correction and hyaluronic acid for hydration. Avoid using alongside strong exfoliating acids or retinoids in the same routine unless tolerated well.

Kojic Acid is considered safe when used within recommended cosmetic limits. However, because it actively affects melanin production, it may cause mild irritation, redness, or sensitivity, particularly in individuals with sensitive or compromised skin.
